19 September 2016

19 September 2016, London (UK): We are excited to announce that Propeller App has won a place on the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator programme.

Propeller is a smartphone app that empowers frontline healthcare staff to communicate their ideas for improving care directly to senior management.

Dr Na’eem Ahmed has welcomed the news: “I am thrilled that Propeller has been accepted onto the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator.

“As a member of the frontline staff in the NHS and at the sharp end of delivering care, I am sometimes better placed to suggest improvements to the way we deliver care to our patients. It can be frustrating having a moment of inspiration but nowhere to take your brilliant idea.

“Propeller helps capture those moments using a smartphone and conveys them to decision makers instantly.”

The DigitalHealth.London Accelerator is a year-long programme that will support 32 high potential companies as they seek adoption into the NHS. The final cohort was selected from 119 applicants by a group of over 60 NHS, commercial and technical experts. All candidates were assessed on their business credibility and their ability to deliver benefits to the health and care system.

The Accelerator programme launched on 12 August 2016 and was attended by senior figures from NHS, industry and Rajesh Agrawal, London’s Deputy Mayor for business.

Jenny Thomas, Accelerator Programme Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Propeller to our very first DigitalHealth.London Accelerator cohort and look forward to working with them closely over the next year.

“This is a completely new and innovative programme – the first of its kind in London – that works by engaging with businesses, the NHS and wider healthcare sector, to close the gap between product development and the uptake of new solutions within hospitals and other healthcare settings.  We believe that our unique approach has the ability to help businesses engage with the NHS in the most efficient way.

“With ever-increasing pressures on health and care services, our ambition is to speed up the adoption of innovations at scale, ensuring that greater number of patients benefit from emerging new technology, more rapidly.”
